Garage door repair
Can you fix my garage door today?
We aim for same-day service whenever our schedule allows, and we answer the phone 24/7. Call (847) 952-9811 and we'll give you the earliest time available.
Is it safe to use a garage door that's off track?
No. A door that's off track or crooked can fall or jam. Leave it closed if you can, unplug the opener and call a technician.
Do you repair all garage door brands?
Yes. We work on all major residential and commercial garage door and opener brands.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. Your technician explains what's wrong and agrees the price with you before any work begins.
Spring repair and replacement
How do I know if my garage door spring is broken?
Common signs are a loud bang, a door that won't lift or only lifts a few inches, and a visible gap in the spring above the door.
Should I replace both springs?
If your door has two springs of the same age, replacing both is usually best. When one breaks, the other is often close behind.
Can I replace a garage door spring myself?
We don't recommend it. Springs are under extreme tension and can cause serious injury without proper tools and training.
How long does spring replacement take?
Most spring replacements take about one to two hours, including balancing and testing the door.
Garage door openers
Which garage door opener is quietest?
Belt-drive and wall-mount openers are the quietest choices and work well if you have a room above the garage.
Why does my garage door reverse right after closing?
Usually the safety sensors near the floor are dirty or misaligned, or the opener's force setting needs adjusting. We can fix both.
Can I open my garage door from my phone?
Yes. Most new openers include Wi-Fi and a phone app. We'll set it up for you during installation.
Should I repair or replace my opener?
If your opener is under 10 years old, a repair usually makes sense. Older openers lack modern safety and security features and are often worth replacing.
New garage doors
How long does a new garage door installation take?
Most installations take four to six hours and are finished in one day, including removal of the old door.
What insulation is best for a Chicago garage?
An insulated steel door with polyurethane insulation keeps an attached garage much warmer in winter and cooler in summer.
Can I see what the door looks like on my house?
Yes. Use our door designer and upload a photo of your house to preview the new door before you buy.
Do you take away the old door?
Yes. Removal and disposal of your old door is included with installation.
Maintenance and tune-ups
How often should a garage door be serviced?
Once a year for most homes. Doors used many times a day may benefit from a tune-up every six months.
What's included in a garage door tune-up?
A safety and balance test, lubrication, tightening of hardware, and inspection of springs, cables, rollers, sensors and the opener.
Can a tune-up prevent a broken spring?
It can't stop springs from wearing out, but it spots worn springs early so you can replace them on your schedule rather than in an emergency.
What lubricant should I use on my garage door?
Use a garage door lubricant or white lithium grease on moving metal parts. Avoid oil-based sprays that collect dirt.
Commercial doors
Do you offer 24/7 commercial door repair?
Yes. Call (847) 952-9811 any time and we'll dispatch a technician as quickly as possible.
What commercial doors do you work on?
Sectional overhead doors, rolling steel doors, high-cycle springs, commercial operators and loading dock doors.
Do you offer maintenance plans for businesses?
Yes. Regular maintenance reduces breakdowns and downtime. Ask us about a plan for your building.
Can you secure a door that's stuck open overnight?
Yes. Our first priority is making the door safe and secure, then completing the full repair.
24/7 emergency repair
Do you really answer at night?
Yes. We answer calls 24/7, including weekends and holidays.
My car is stuck in the garage. What should I do?
Don't force the door. If a spring is broken, the door is extremely heavy. Call us and we'll get you out safely.
How fast can you arrive in an emergency?
It depends on your location and the time of day. We'll give you an honest arrival estimate when you call.
Is emergency service more expensive?
We'll tell you the cost on the phone before we dispatch, so there are no surprises.
